Membership Application

Payment for Membership may be submitted on the Mercantile page.

Affordable membership in the CTLR is offered to those who own old-time, original Texas Longhorn cattle. All members will receive a Certificate of Membership and complete information packet on cattle inspection and registration.  We use a gene map analysis and visual inspection to determine eligibility for registration.  We also greatly appreciate the support from individuals that do not own cattle.  We have a method for you to make a tax-deductible donation to help fund DNA research and education.  We are happy to add you to our email list to be notified of events and volunteer opportunities.

*Estate, Lifetime and Active members must own at least two CTLR registered breeding animals (see Cattle Registration) and receive unanimous approval of the Board of Directors.

Founding, Estate, Lifetime and Active members shall be entitled to influence policy with a one-man, one-vote representation either from the floor or by phone or other electronic methods.

Membership is not restricted to county, state or country.

Thanks to a generous anonymous donation, all new members will receive the gift of a Graves Peeler book.

The CTLR is a non-profit trade organization dedicated to promoting and preserving historically correct, genetically historic Texas Longhorn cattle.  When first founded in 1991, the CTLR offered Associate memberships to persons wishing to support our mission but did not own cattle.  The Cattlemen's Texas Longhorn Conservancy, a 501(c)3 public charity, was formed in 2005.  This sister organization to the CTLR assumed the duties of engaging in scientific research and education about old-time, original Texas Longhorn cattle.  Donations to the Conservancy are tax-deductible, so non-rancher persons wishing to support our mission are appreciatively directed to that organization.

Love the Texas Longhorn, but don't own a ranch?

To learn of projects where you can help preserve this historic breed, please visit the website of our sister organization Cattlemen's Texas Longhorn Conservancy, a public charity whose focus is on conservation, genetic research and public education.
